Napier Girls' overcame a strong challenge from All In Tremains Elusive in their SUPER 8 semi-final, becoming the first school team to make the Super Club Final. The match was end to end with quick distribution from the mid-court and impressive shooting in the circle. 100% shooting success rate from both teams in the 1st quarter really set the tone for the match. Napier Girls just had too much for Elusive in the end running out 71-59 victors.
Despite being undefeated in the Championship round Outkast Optimise Physio were pipped to a final spot by Otane Thirsty Whale. The defending champions, Otane, have made every Super Club Final since the inception of the competition and put in a decisive 2nd quarter performance (18-11) which proved to be too big a deficit for the spirited Outkast to come back from, going down 45-57.
Central Sports Vet Services won a 'game of 2 halves' against All In Tremains Evasive in the battle for 5th. The 1st half ended with only a point between the sides, but the Central side ramped it up after the break, winning both the 3rd & 4th quarters by 6 points, 55-42 the final score. HHSOG Proactive Huias managed to avenge their defeat to Hastings Girls' HS earlier in the season with a 56-52 win to secure 7th place.
