Aaron Good appointed 

General Manager - Hawke's Bay Netball

Hawke's Bay Netball are pleased to announce that Aaron Good has been appointed as General Manager, replacing Denise Aiolupotea who has resigned after ten years with the organisation.

Aaron brings extensive experience in business management and high-performance sport.  He has deep connections in the sporting sector both as a player and a professional coach and his business skills include leading multi-disciplinary teams within the trade sector.  He has recently returned to the region having been in Italy on a professional coaching contract with Verona Rugby.  He is delighted to be back home in Hawke’s Bay to settle with his young family, and excited to have secured a role to lead one of the region’s largest participation sports.   

“To be able to lead Hawke’s Bay Netball is an honour.  My philosophy is to connect, develop and inspire people and to have the opportunity to apply this in the community sport sector, which I am passionate about, is something I’m looking forward to. It helps that I also have two daughters who are both playing and loving Netball.”

Hawke’s Bay Netball is the fourth largest centre in New Zealand, behind Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch.

Hawke’s Bay Netball chairperson Tina Haslett said Aaron brings a broad skill set which is aligned for taking the organisation forward.   We are very aware of the challenges ahead for the community sport sector.  Aaron brings considerable business experience along with a deep understanding of participation pathway development and coaching environments to be able to lead the organisation through its next phase of growth.  He secured the role ahead of strong interest, and the Board is looking forward to welcoming him in three weeks’ time when he formally starts with the organisation. 

Kathryn Stonehouse has been appointed as Acting General Manager until Aaron starts on Monday 26^th August 2024.
