COVID-19 UPDATE

Everyone at Hawke's Bay Netball would like to extend a big thank you to the Netball community for the patience and understanding shown as we worked through the challenging process of operating under Level 2 restrictions.
Unfortunately after working through the updated NNZ Guidelines for Gatherings and liaising with other centres we had to come to the extremely difficult decision to put on hold all Year 1–8 Netball until we reach Level 1.
We know this will be disappointing to many, however Health and Safety of our participants is our priority. Hopefully it wont be long until we reach level 1 and we will look at other opportunities for this age group once we resume.
All other competitions will be able to continue under level 2 restrictions. Please see the competition specific information around what each competition will look like.
All of the above competitions will function with NO SPECTATORS and with changes to game times, entry/exit procedure and mandatory contact tracing. Information has been sent directly to each Schools and Club contact.
Please see below for links to view the venue maps for Saturday Competition:

EVERY GOAL COUNTS AS SUPER 12 RACE HEATS UP
There were some epically close battles on Tuesday evening as the race for spots in the final ignited.
Remarkably looking at the scoreboards for all three courts with less than a minute left of round 1, all three games were drawing! The tension was visible as all 6 teams strived for the ball to take the win.
In Division 1, Defending Champions Napier Girls' HS continue to lead the pack but were pushed all the way by Iona College in their 25-14 win. Taradale HS & Woodford House both had their turn at significant leads over their opposition, but neither was able to capitalise, with the competition points shared in a thrilling 26-26 draw. Hastings Girls' HS took a 2-point lead into the end of the first quarter but Havelock North HS kept in the fight all the way to the end, almost coming back for a share of the spoils. Hastings Girls', however, saw out the game 24-23 to maintain their 100% record in Unison SUPER 12.
In Division 2, The game of round saw Ahuriri Sports and Flaxmere College play out a colossal 41-41 draw. With that draw in the 1st round, Karamu HS new a win would take them clear at the top of the division and they duly delivered with a 33-25 win over Wairoa College. The final game also was in the balance all the way to the final Umpire's whistle as Central Hawke's Bay College edged out Sacred Heart College 25-24.

SEKI NETBALL LAUNCHED
SEKI Netball is underway with 25 girls involved in the first week. SEKI Netball is aimed at Pasefika Teine Secondary School students and incorporates all forms of modified Netball. The session kick started with a group warm up to Beyonce’s hit song ‘Move your body’ which bought loads of laughter that lit up the arena. The majority of the participants come from Hastings Girls High School and William Colenso College, with more students from Flaxmere College and Tamatea High ready to join the next session.
Walking Netball proved to be a popular game incorporating low impact rules like no running or jumping. Although the sound of low impact sounds easy the game itself can be quite challenging. Walking Netball proved to be very entertaining with majority of the players on the ground filled with fits of laughter.
The programme is scheduled to run for 5 sessions over the next few Friday’s after school at PGA. Thank you to all who have been involved so far. If you would like to know how you can get involved please contact development@hbnetball.co.nz
